FED: SOCOG appoints ticketing general manager

SOCOG has appointed the general manager of the Darling Harbour Authority as its new
head of ticketing.

ALAN MARSH will take up the newly-created position of ticketing general manager for six months.

Mr MARCH's appointment comes after a scathing internal investigation two weeks ago
found SOCOG had mismanaged the Games ticketing process.

The review says that SOCOG misled the public on the amount of tickets available, and
sold top seats outside of the public ballot to wealthy individuals and groups at a premium.

Mr MARSH will be replaced at the Darling Harbour Authority by senior manager DI TALTY.
