Fed: Police chief to convene regional terrorism summit
Australia's police chief says he hopes to hold a summit of regional police forces toimprove cooperation and capacity against a possible terrorist attack.
Australian Federal Police Commissioner MICK KEELTY has met representatives from Thailand,Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore to discuss convening a summit early next year.
Mr KEELTY says the summit will discuss how to respond to a similar situation to theBali bombing in October, which killed more than 180 people.
The proposed meeting will also discuss ways to deal with transnational crime, particularlydrug trafficking.
Mr KEELTY says the summit will give everyone a better understanding of other country'sresources and the best way to cooperate should there be another multi-national disaster.
