Smith, in her 100th year, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 following a dignified journey through the aging process. Born in Albany, she was a lifelong resident and daughter of the late William and Alice Graham Shaw. Mrs. Smith worked for New York State for 27 years with the department of health, the department of law and the division for youth until her retirement. She was a member of the AARP Local Chapter 78 and a communicant of Holy Cross Church and member of its Seniors Group. She was the beloved wife for 49 years of the late James H.
