Qld: Shirley Singh will never say goodbye to her slain children

By Alex Murdoch

BRISBANE, April 21 AAP - Shirley Singh has vowed justice will be done for her three
murdered children.

And she has promised never to say goodbye to daughters Neelma, 24, and Sidhi, 12, and
son Kunal, 18, despite a final prayer service planned for them on May 8.

Neelma, Sidhi and Kunal were found dead in the spa bath of their luxury Bridgeman
Downs home in Brisbane's north on April 22 last year.

Police believe they were murdered in their beds before being dragged into the bath,
but the cause of their deaths still has not been released.

Mrs Singh said Neelma, Sidhi and Kunal were never far from her mind and she could still
feel their presence in the house and in their rooms, which remain as they left them.

"I don't feel alone with them around. Not at all," she said.

With tomorrow marking the first anniversary of the killings, Mrs Singh is still trying
to hold together the threads of her shattered life, clinging to her memories of a once-happy
family.

No-one has been charged over the killings, but the Singh family's former neighbour
Max Sica, 34, has been questioned several times.

Police also recently seized Mr Sica's car and raided his home, as well as the homes
of his close relatives.

Mr Sica has continually denied committing the murders and had earlier claimed he was
being victimised by police.

Mrs Singh today said she could not talk about the latest developments in the case.

"They (police) are doing their job and that is it," she said.

She said faith had helped her to survive, but she still could not understand the motivation
behind such a terrible crime.

"How can someone be so insane and evil to do such a thing at Easter?" Mrs Singh said
of the killings on Easter weekend last year.

"... Easter meant a lot to me. It still does but that horrible memory kept haunting
me all night."

Mrs Singh and her husband Vijay were in Fiji at the time of the murders.

They last spoke to their three children on Good Friday -- four days before their bodies
were found on April 22.

Mrs Singh said she had been surrounded by family and friends over the Easter weekend
this year, to help her survive the first anniversary.

"All day (Saturday) was full on and I think that is what made me get through, because
they were talking about good things," she said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Bryan Paton said it was only a matter of time before police
solved the case and he asked the public to be patient.
